This gem opened in 1904 as the first municipally-owned theater in the United States.

The Anderson Center at Tower View is a 30-year-old interdisciplinary arts center offering prestigious residency programs that draw writers, sculptors, and painters from around the world. Charles Biederman famously chose Red Wing over New York City in 1941, spending 60 years here developing his influential theories on abstract art, proving the city’s appeal as a place for serious creative focus.

The outdoor gallery offers a Red Wing Art Walk that features over 30 permanent and rotating pieces, including the “Maestro” at the Sheldon Theatre and “Jake on Bass” in Central Park.-in addition there are Large-scale murals like the “Honoring Dakota” and the “Red Wing Welcome” mural that are woven into the historic downtown.
