Tipi Memorial at Bay Point Park

Memorial Park

Around 1910, Red Wing civic leaders of the Women’s Community Association and Soldiers Memorial Association combined forces and started work on Memorial Park, a scenic Sorin’s Bluff retreat dedicated to soldiers of all wars. G.A. Carlson Historical Landmark

The G.A. Carlson Lime Kiln, built in 1882 on the northeast end of He Mni Can-Barn Bluff, is typical of approximately 30 such kilns in use in the Red Wing area during the period of 1870 to 1908.
