Day # 1

Lodging suggestion: St. James Hotel

Check-in/Settle In at the historic St. James Hotel (Check-in time is typically 4:00 PM, but you can leave your bags with the front desk if you arrive earlier). Take a moment to appreciate the unique, historic lodging facility.

Select the perfect time to enjoy special treatments. Indulge in a pre-booked service at River Blu Salon and DaySpa (also conveniently located within the St. James Hotel). Opt for a 60-minute therapeutic massage, a luxurious facial, or relax in their Salt Room for quality air and skin rejuvenation.

Boutique Shopping at RAK Boutique (located in the St. James Hotel area, 313 Bush Street) for unique clothing, accessories, and gifts. Browse trendy fashions, snacks, accessories and home decor.

Lunch at Hotel Restaurant, Scarlet Kitchen and Bar. A casual classy dining experience located on the main level of the hotel. Reservations preferred but not required. Patio seating available seasonally (call to confirm)

Floral & unique trinkets shop Clementine Florist and Gift Shop for worldly gifts, chocolate and a full array of unique flower arrangements (located in the St. James Hotel, 406 Main St). Purchase a bouquet for yourself or a loved one.

Local History & Art Take a short, fascinating trip through local history at the American Ski Jumping Museum (located on the mezzanine level of the St. James Hotel). It’s free. This self-guided museum showcases Red Wing’s unexpected history in the sport.

Cocktail hour in a unique setting at the St. James Hotel’s The Port (located in the St. James Hotel on the lower level). Enjoy a classic craft cocktail in the rustic yet elite setting giving you speak-easy vibes and cozy welcoming feels.

Day # 2

Theme: Relaxation, Baked Goods and The World’s Largest Boot

Leisure Breakfast/Brunch, start the day with breakfast at Scarlet Kitchen and Bar. The menu offers robust plates often enough to share. Delight in sweet & savory items or simply enjoy a specialty coffee in a relaxed setting. Menu changes seasonally and may change on weekends.

Explore the Hotel & Riverfront Enjoy the beautiful architecture and river views from the hotel’s common areas. Browse the original lobby, library and grand staircase showcasing the founding individuals. Just a short walk from the property, explore Levee Park and the Mississippi Riverfront.

Red Wing Shoe Museum. Highly recommended. The Red Wing Shoe Flagship Store & Museum offers a free self-guided museum, a photo op with the World’s Largest Boot, a factory outlet and full service shoe sizing. Fun Fact: The Red Wing Shoe Co purchased the historic St James hotel in 1977 and continues to work hard renovating the boutique hotel with luxury amenities. The two properties are just a short block away from each other.

Lunch in Downtown Red Wing wander off a block from the St James Hotel to find a casual spot to pick up some baked goods before departing the area. Hanisch Bakery & Coffee Shop, Bev’s Cafe or Mandy’s Coffee & Cafe offer sweet treats, sandwiches, soups and of course, coffee.
