There is nothing quite like summer in a river town, and Red Wing is gearing up for an absolutely unforgettable celebration.
If you are looking for the perfect blend of local flavor, classic Americana, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show over the Mississippi, you’ve found it.
Pack your picnic baskets, your lawn chairs, and some sunscreen to spend the day exploring, indulging and taking in the sounds of summer through live music.
—here is your step-by-step guide to making the most of the big day in Red Wing.
Start your day off right by heading down to Levee Road for the Farmers Market. Opening first thing in the morning, it’s the perfect spot to grab a fresh pastry, a cold brew, and browse a vibrant selection of homegrown produce, fresh-cut flowers, and handmade artisan goods. Take a gentle morning stroll along the riverfront while the air is still cool, secure your spot on the green space with your blanket & chairs and soak in the early energy of the town.
Head along the river to the pedestrian bridge that leads you to the The West End District: A vibrant area featuring an eclectic mix retail, the Pottery Museum of Red Wing and other local funspots.
Back over in the The Downtown District you will find an array of historic architecture, unique boutiques, Hanisch Bakery, candy shops, and beautiful viewpoints. Enjoy the historic charm while visiting one of Red Wing’s main attractions, The world’s Largest boot that is on display at the Red Wing Shoe Co. Flagship Store.

Both districts are home to unique boutiques, antique shops, and specialty stores you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re looking for curated home decor, a new summer outfit, or a unique piece of local art, you’re bound to find a treasure.
Nothing says summer like the crack of a bat! In the afternoon, make your way over to the historic Athletic Field to cheer on the Red Wing Aces at 2pm. Our local amateur baseball team brings all the classic town-ball energy you could want. Grab a hot dog, find a spot in the grandstands, and enjoy a few innings of great baseball surrounded by local fans. Located just outside the ball field is the Splash Pad. Let the kiddos run some of their energy off and enjoy the small tokens of the warm summer days.
