Knudsen’s Caramels

With operations located in Red Wing, MN, the Knudsen Family has been hand-crafting caramels to perfection since the mid 1980s. Ron, Peggy, sons Josh and Noah along with an additional staff of 4 are in charge of making the soft and buttery caramels that have been highlighted in national publications and compared to the old-time candies once sold in general stores.

Many things have changed since 1986, but not the Knudsen caramel recipe. Grown from humble beginnings in the kitchen of Peggy and Ron’s home in Frontenac, Knudsen’s caramels have become nationally recognized with online sales throughout the United States.

The key to Knudsen’s buttery caramels is simple ingredients and the small-batch process. Just like the first batch more than 40 years ago, each piece of caramel is still overseen by the Knudsen staff and treated with care to achieve that unique flavor. Every batch is tested and checked for taste, texture and quality. It’s a special treat that can’t be matched!
