Sashiko is a style of Japanese folk embroidery literally meaning “little stabs.” Using traditional Sashiko patterns, you will spend the evening stitching a set of two coasters while enjoying a cup of Japanese tea. A $5 material fee will be payable to the instructor at class. No experience necessary. Those registered for this class will receive free admission to view the instructor’s exhibit, “Charcoal & Persimmon: A Textile Travelogue,” the day of class and before class begins at the Goodhue County History Center. This class is co-sponsored by Red Wing Community Education and the Goodhue County Historical Society.
