History Story Time: “A Fine Dessert”
Dec 28 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Join the Goodhue County Historical Society at the Red Wing Public Library for a morning filled with a story, history, and dessert. Families will listen as the Megan Seeland, Children’s & Teen Services Librarian, reads “A Find Dessert: Four Centuries, Four Families, One Delicious Treat” by Emily Jenkins and Sophie Blackall. Families will then learn about the history of kitchen gadgets through hands-on exploration of artifacts from the Goodhue County Historical Society’s education collection. At the end, families will have a chance to work together to make the dessert they learned about in the story and, take it home with them to enjoy. The sweet treat is Blackberry Fool, which includes heavy cream.
This program is free and open to the public. Advanced registration through the Red Wing Public Library is required to ensure we have enough materials for the art project. Registration starts on December 1 and ends on December 21. Reserve your spot in person or call 651.385.3645. Space for this program is limited to 24 children.
This program will take place in the foot room at the Red Wing Public Library.
