The annual event is hosted by multiple communities along the “Great River Road“. Over fifteen historic river towns within two states (MN & WI) set up for the largest garage sale in the region.Bargain hunters can start anywhere along the river road – Minnesota or Wisconsin – to seek the treasures that they are longing for. Mississippi Valley Partners sponsors the 100-mile Garage Sale. The 100 Mile Garage Sale extends from Winona north to Red Wing on the Minnesota side of the River and Fountain City north to Prescott on the Wisconsin side of the River. Thousands of individuals and businesses participate by offering various sales/close out items.
Entire neighborhoods band together to offer a robust experience including: household items, furniture, clothing for all ages, tools, collectibles, books, toys, lawn items and sometimes you may find a house or two for sale. Items vary from town to town. Seek church rummage sales, sidewalk sales and most restaurants offer deals of the day. One day is hardly enough to cover so much ground. Consider reserving a room at a local lodging facility so you are not rushed.
